Public Information Officers Group

Membership Level Benefits

There are two membership levels within the North Texas Public Information Officers Group:

  • PIO Member. Anyone actively employed as a communications coordinator or spokesperson for a governmental organization or public sector entity (excluding news media personnel).
Benefits include:
    • Attend general and special meetings;
    • Serve on standing or special committees;
    • Join the PIO Listserv maintained by the North Texas Council of Governments;
    • Vote on all questions coming before the membership;
    • Attend specialized training classes (with reduced fees) offered by the group;
    • Hold office on the North TX PIO Group Board of Directors;
    • Access members-only resources on website.
  • Media Member. Anyone actively employed by a news agency in the local news market

Benefits include:

  • Attend general and special meetings;
  • Serve on standing or special committees.
